It brings together practical resources, trusted perspectives and honest stories to help people understand their options, make better decisions and take the next step with greater clarity.
From a local community to a free business library
The Inspiration Space began in Surrey in 2018 as a creative antidote to lonely entrepreneurship.
Founder Liana Fricker wanted to create the kind of business community she could not find elsewhere: welcoming, useful and built for self-starters, freelancers and founders who wanted something different from conventional networking.
The early Inspiration Space brought people together through local pop-ups, workshops and shared conversations. It was never about inventing an entirely new way of doing business. It was about breathing new life into old ways of working — with more creativity, curiosity, connection and considerably less beige.
What began as a local community grew into programmes, coaching, expert sessions and practical business support. People shared what they knew, asked better questions and learned from others who had faced similar decisions.
Along the way, The Inspiration Space created and collected hundreds of guides, webinars, interviews, lessons and tools. Today, that learning lives on here.
What you will find
The library covers the practical questions that come with turning an idea, professional experience or specialist expertise into independent work or a small business.
You can find help with business models, marketing and sales, money and funding, mindset and wellbeing, useful tools and building a more sustainable business.
Some resources come from our own programmes and work with founders. Others capture the experience of specialists, contributors and business owners who generously shared what they had learned. We credit that knowledge because useful ideas do not appear from nowhere.
No single route to success
Generic business advice has a habit of presenting one person’s answer as everybody’s answer. We do not.
A decision that works brilliantly for one business may be expensive, exhausting or simply irrelevant to another. Your circumstances, responsibilities, ambitions, energy and definition of enough all matter.
The Inspiration Space gives you practical information, useful context and different perspectives. You decide what fits.
Why the library is free
Useful business knowledge should not be reserved for people with money, established networks or insider confidence.
The library is free to explore. Some practical tools, programme materials and downloadable resources ask you to create a free account with your email address. There is no paid course hiding behind every useful answer and no promise that one formula will transform your business overnight.
What we still believe
Collaboration always trumps competition because, while not every idea deserves to succeed, the people who dream them up deserve a fair chance to find out.
The format has changed, but the purpose has not: make useful knowledge easier to access, share what helps and hold the ladder while other people reach for more.
