Thank you to Inspiration Space for encouraging me on this journey. If you are responsible for a business of any type, sustainability needs to be one of your core priorities.
I now have a carbon reduction toolkit to make informed purchasing decisions for my business and home. We also secured £25K funding from LoCASE to improve energy efficiency in our new office.
I am proud to say that I have passed my Carbon Literacy at Inspiration Space. I was going in the right direction and have more ideas of I can use to keep improving and become carbon zero.
Highly recommend Inspiration Space's Carbon Literacy training. Informative and very action-focused! This programme was short, sweet and intensive - and hugely worth the little bit of effort it took to schedule the time.
I'm inspired that small actions like designing products for easy repair can have a positive impact on the environment. I learned how to be mindful of sustainability in all business decision-making.
As we stand at the brink of year-end when all the focus is placed firmly on the bottom line, Carbon Literacy is going to become a critical factor in the future success of your organisation.
You might even be thinking this isn't relevant to you.
You might think emission reduction is down to big corporations and government and there's nothing you can do.
But the truth is, climate change is all about power - and you have more than you think.
Business is responding to the changing climate this will impact you.
From regulatory changes to greenwashing, if your daily grind includes:
✅ HR

Carbon Literacy is designed for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who want to learn how to reduce their carbon footprint, build a sustainable business and future-proof their career.
The course is designed to be completed over 4 weeks with an estimated 3 hours of time commitment per week. 2 of those hours are for live learning during workshops and you should invest another hour tying up loose ends. During the Carbon Literacy bootcamp, the sessions are 3.5 hours long. You must attend both to receive your accreditation.
As a freelancer, your business, just like any other, has a carbon footprint that can impact the environment. Carbon Literacy not only provides businesses of all sizes with the necessary tools and strategies to reduce their carbon emissions but also dispels common myths about the impact of our behaviour.
We also inform you of industry changes that are affecting jobs, especially in the creative industries, where the risk of greenwashing fines and claims is rising. That's why carbon literacy is a crucial skill for marketing teams to avoid creating generic, false, or misaligned advertisements.
The high carbon cost of digital marketing practices is a topic you won't want to miss. Did you know that sending and receiving just ten emails daily has the same environmental impact as using 1,200 plastic bags over a year?
Understanding the impact of digital emissions is crucial for a company's survival and can help them adopt more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Sure! When you think about sustainability, you might think of packaging or recycling - or even planting trees. But these are all old, outdated ideas of what sustainability is.
Sustainability is about changing how we use, value and respect natural resources without compromising future generations' ability to meet their own needs. It's a sophisticated, easy-to-learn and technical skill set that is quickly becoming a must-have for any successful business.
Of course, economics will always play a crucial role in any business decision. But the bottom line is also influenced by a growing emphasis on social value and a longer-term view of operational costs.
Carbon reduction refers to decreasing the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere, which helps combat climate change.
The Low Carbon Accelerator is open to anyone who wants to learn how to reduce their carbon footprint and build a sustainable business, regardless of their industry. We promise you'll come away feeling more inspired about the future - this is about accelerating progress, not more 'doom and gloom.'
We can provide guidance and resources to help you secure grant funding, but we cannot guarantee any funding.
Carbon Literacy is hosted by Inspiration Space and run by a global team of experienced certified professionals with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to helping small businesses reduce their carbon footprint.
Our team includes experts from various fields, such as renewable energy, biotech, and sustainable business practices. You will learn directly from these professionals helping some of the world's most well-known brands take advantage of the low-carbon economy.
Carbon Literacy is an awareness of the impact of personal and business actions on the environment and climate change. Another way of thinking about it is knowing and understanding the language used to create science-backed targets and engage confidently in this space.
Our Carbon Literacy Bootcamp is accredited by the Carbon Trust. This UN-recognised standard is never greenwashed and research shows it leads to a 5-15% reduction in carbon emissions and more engaged work cultures.
The Carbon Literacy bootcamp is a mandatory component of the course.
The course is structured as a 4-week programme with a focus on action-learning sprints, expert mentorship, and community engagement. You can expect to learn about carbon reduction strategies, sustainable business practices, and access a network of like-minded professionals.
We strongly encourage participants to attend live sessions whenever possible to take advantage of the interactive nature of the workshops and engage in real-time discussions with industry experts and peers.
Live participation at both sessions of the Carbon Literacy Bootcamp is required for accreditation. Recordings are made available to participants within 48 hours of the live session for the purposes of reviewing and embedding the knowledge.
After you complete the programme, you will have access to ongoing support and resources, including mentorship, networking opportunities, and further learning resources. You will also receive a certificate of completion and Carbon Literacy accreditation.
Of course. We encourage you to speak to an advisor to learn more about the programme and determine if it is the right fit for you and your business. You can arrange a time to speak to one of our team using the big 'Speak to an Advisor' button at the top of the screen ☝️
Absolutely. Carbon Literacy at Inspiration Space is open to anyone who wants to learn how to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future, whether you are an entrepreneur or not.
It's important to note that the net zero economy employs over 800,000 people across 20,000 businesses and is 1.7 times more productive than the economy as a whole. This means there are plenty of opportunities for people in various sectors to get involved, and this sector is exponentially growing.
The green economy is driving growth around the world. It presents opportunities for leaders of professional services companies to take notice and consider ways they can support and participate in this growing ecosystem. Closing the knowledge gap about climate science is fundamental to our ability to adapt and thrive as we head into the next normal.
If you're looking to improve your career prospects, it's important to note that executive pay is increasingly tied to achieving carbon reduction targets. Carbon Literacy is becoming essential for anyone in a leadership position as companies strive to meet their sustainability goals.
